Our team does everything it can to keep companion pets with their people. Suzy Q was found abandoned as a puppy in front of a food bank in Cave Junction. A kind woman rescued her and took her home to her fifth wheel, where the two immediately bonded. However, when the RV’s landlord found out about the stray puppy she had taken in, he warned them they would be evicted if Suzy Q became pregnant. Unfortunately, housing managers often impose these types of rules as a way to control the proliferation of animals and limit property damage, yet it often means both the companion pet and the owner are once again left to fend for themselves on the street.
When RVSD heard about it, we were there to help! We got Suzy Q the medical services she needed and are proud to say she was spayed today at West Main Animal Hospital in Medford. Both Suzy Q and her guardian will now be able to stay together and live happily with each other’s companionship.
